Screening for PTSD after life-threatening medical events

Something survivors need to be aware of “after any life-threatening event, there are increased rates of PTSD, whether the patient was seen at a trauma center or emergency room or spent time in the ICU”

Yes interesting.

I certainly had some problems after my heart attack and on discussions we (me and the councillor) thought in might have been linked to PTSD.

Yes, I suffered with PTSD after the heart attack, been on meds for can't 4 months, but still don't feel as well as I did prior to the heart attack

Don`t normally read yank stuff but this article certainly got bells ringing for me ,very informative and gave me some answers that my docs could not

I had problems for quite a long tim after my heart attack, I had CBT and my councellor diagnosed me with PTSD. I feel much better now but I don't think I will ever forget those awful feelings
