I am still trying to get a chatty blog going. My last one didn't work as we can't put pictures on in replies. I love to hear what people are up to in their day to day lives....so....... no questions....no answers...good or bad....WHO'S IN?
HOW'S YOUR DAY?!!: I am still trying to... - Restless Legs Syn...
HOW'S YOUR DAY?!!
good so far looks like your is
Hey there. I'm home on sick leave after some Ca treatment, but I'm busy making a couple of databases for our vast music collection. Not THAT exciting, but keeping my brain occupied. It is windy, cold & just started raining here (Lincs).
I'm ok today despite no sleep at all last night...I've done some boring house work and just taken some more pain.killers so might have a little nap before work at 6...I need some overtime to pay for my vibrating machine! Can't wait till its here...this week and next week to work then off to the lake district for a week!!!! Yeah!!!
Thanks. Oooh, The Lakes are one of my favourite places for a break. Lucky you! I'm trying to wind up ready for a return to work shortly, but now you've mentioned the Lake District, I might research a nice break for a holiday later in the year. Nice one, dragon! Hope your machine helps you too.
We usually go for 2 weeks at this time of year but can only go for 1 week this year...him indoors has too much work on! Shouldn't complain! Just hope it snows!
My day has been great, the sort of day I love. I woke this morning knowing I had a completely free day, to do whatever I want. I haven't even got to cook supper, just get it out of the freezer and put it in the microwave.
So I've:-
Done some more of my patchwork. It's gorgeous, glowing pink orange red purple and gold.
Eaten too many salty biscuits.
Played difficult spider solitaire three times and won once.
Had a short sleep.
And now I'm looking to see what everyone else is doing on here.
The family will be home soon, It was too good to last!!!!
We had a great week in Ulverston in the lake district last year. But can't go this year, My husband had a stroke last autumn, and though he's almost fully recovered he can't drive now. I can't drive anymore either.
Any one know a holiday cottage near a railway station?
Hi everyone- as a native of the Lake District many moons ago i can highly recommend it. Hope all who goes there enjoy it and get up to the highest peaks where the real lake district is and not just Windermere and Ambleside!!
Had a good day myself, gone to the docs, being referred to Neurolagist (my spelling is awful)
and told not to take any more 'borrowed' Diazapam as they will become interfering with the Mirapexin and make the RLS worse in time and also become addictive etc. I only used them for 2 nights and had fantastic nights both nights but its back to standard meds now cause i don't want any of the long term affects. See what the neuro says eh. Glad that some people are having positive days and its great to see. Long may it continue. Calm and senerity to all. Steve T

we usually stay at a campsite in keswick and do a lot of walking....not much relaxing...a couple of years ago we were on the mountains in snow so deep the fenceposts had been buried...quite difficult to find your way in white!!! if you like stone circles there is an really beautiful atmospheric one at castle rigg..well worth a visit!
they'll never let you over the border.... lol
ooo, will they let me ?
Ahh this is a lovely blog , my day yesterday was stressful , being picked on at work , then home to pick my daughter up from school had tea and homework lol , nice to chat as get lonely at times and my rls can't get worse with stress , x
Hey Bettyboop - everytime you feel a little lonely, remember that there are so many friends on here, you may not know their faces nor their proper names but we are all friends together all fighting the same cause. If ever you want to chat I am often on here looking, at all times of the day and night!!
You don't need to be picked on at work either, thats horrible.
If anybody does go to the lakes, make sure you take the time to go to a little village called Ravenglass (I spent my boyhood there from 6 to 12 yrs old). Its a lovely place and the little mini steam railway called 'The Ratty' takes you 7 miles through the most glorious scenery up to Eskdale. I used to help on the railway and get to ride in the steam engine which is no bigger than a family car, oh happy days.
Steve and everyone, this easeful blog has been a lovely idea. Just thinking about the beautiful Lake District is an enjoyable distraction away from all the rubbish we are dealing with. We used to go walking to Buttermere, Derwent water and climbed many of the easy to moderate fells. Now I think a stroll around the edge of a lake would be fine! The area, even in summer, can be so peaceful, away from crowds and gives you the space for relaxing and letting 'stuf'f go. It might even encourage some quality sleep time
When I was young, several hundred years ago, I did Striding Edge......But I can remember....
At least I think I can remember.......!!!
Just the fact such places exist makes me feel good inside. Did anyone watch Wainwright Walks? Wonderful.
Thank you Steve , that's very kind off you
The plan this year is hellvellyn and maybe striding edge but it looks scary!
Hiya all, well I live in Cumbria so the lakes is half an hour drive from me I do have ennerdale up the road beautiful photos when it snows I have a selection taken two weeks back as we had a lot if snow :-)!
Well I work every evening but i make jewellery and children's wooden name blocks and cards in my hours of insomnia my RLS is under control with the neupro patch!
I am however in extreme pain with my back and on Tuesday I am going in hospital for an epidural to hopefully kill the pain
Same from me x x x
You all are making me so jealous!!! I definitely need to get a trip over yonder! Detroit got snowbound today after a big snowfall during the night and heavy winds. Hubby & I spent the day doing the finishing touches on a house we hope to sell and I wore a plastic bag over my head (well, not ALL the way) to protect 6 holes in my forehead & hairline from contamination by cleaners, wax, & plaster dust. Dx last week with squamous cell cancer Did they REALLY have to biopsy so many spots??? Excited to list the house tomorrow!
Sorry to hear about the cancer, CathyS, but I think they're pretty good at treating skin cancer now. There is so much cancer about, that's two people, mentioned it on just this skein. I've had it too, had to have my oesophagus removed.
I'm about to look up recipes, I'm going to try going on a lactose free diet, trouble is, I love cheese. Is there such a thing as vegetarian lactose free cheese? I need to get my "funny tummy" sorted out.
I'm sure you will find some cheese......but will it taste like cheese!!!!!!! Ha ha
Reading these posts I would like to wish everyone love, light, health and happiness. It makes me feel very silly moaning about my rls when I see what others have had to deal with......love to you all x x x x
Don't ever feel silly moaning about RLS. Cancer is scary, yes, but I've cried more over RLS than I ever did over cancer, because with cancer, every one is quickly and efficiently doing all they can to deal with it. I didn't feel neglected. With RLS the weeks and months of torture creep by and you finally get an appt. with the neurologist.... in six months time. If you're lucky.
I've had 2 nights of 6 hours sleep....codeine worked magically for a change...it doesn't always work....so off to watch my son play uni American football .....and get cold and wet ha ha !!!!
Don't ever try the dairy free cheese it is horrendous
I've had 3 nights of 6 hours sleep IN BED!!!! Love co codamol when it works. And no hangover today....Monday is my day off so I'm sorting out the van ready for our holiday....I feel good this morning! Bit of a disaster day yesterday .....son got taken off with a knee injury in the first half! Or should I say second quarter! wish my boys would play a proper game like rugby! I just can't warm to American football! But sometimes I wish they would play tiddley winks!!! Although they could get an eye injury from that!!!!
Hi all, great idea a chatty blog, well done!
We are redecorating our living room, stairs and landing and bedroom, it has been such a job, the amount of stuff that has accumulated, I think it will be sometime before we are straight!
I do love the look of things so far, and when the bedroom furniture comes and is in it will be great! I hope worth all the turmoil.
We thought we better do this now, as I am disabled, back problems low mobility, lots of pain, RLS is worse, and hubby has been diagnosed with severe Arthritis in back and hips, poor thing, and I don't think we are going to improve much!
Luckily we have 3 able bodied grown up kids to help us!
Next thing we know we will have mobility scooters! Oh well we can maybe have races on the seafront, ( when nobody else is around, We would not want an accident!)
I think mine will have to be pink diamonte, and his chelsea blue, lol!
At least we will have a nice new looking home for a while, and it has been such fun finding curtains wallpaper etc.. We bought an Ottoman bed, and the mattress is great for our backs, it is pocket sprung, and laytex topping, king size, so much better than our old one!
We are off for a cheapie AI holiday to Egypt next week, in Sharm el sheik, probably the last we can afford as we are both not working now, although we are thinking up ideas for different employment, it is hard when you are nearing retirement as my husband is, but we will enjoy this time, and face the future as best we can!
Have a great day all,
Cazx
