Hi everyone
I have found putting something heavy on my ankles and lower legs when lying in bed helps eg a huge pile of ironing, I'm looking out for ankle weights though, think this will be more practical.

Hi glad it's helping I can't seem to stand anything touching my legs as it makes them jump worse
Yes I agree applying pressure can help. My dog sleeps on my legs and that helps
Have you tried wearing socks to bed?
When my arms are playing up I find that laying on my front with my arms underneath helps some. I think that women have so many other hormonal things going on that it's hard to know what is an RLS symptom and what is hormonal. I used to have burning feet and be really hot at night but now I feel the cold at night, and once I'm cold my RLS gets worse - even to my shoulders and arms. I sometimes just cannot get warm whatever I do. I try electric over blanket full on but even that's not enough. And yes, pressure on the legs seems to help me somewhat. I just can't get hubby to stay awake and sit on them long enough! I get the dog in!
i get my teenage daughter to sit on ankles on sofa! or putting my ankles lower than the rest of me can help, mine doesn't seem related to hot, cold or hormones. Definitely related to tiredness. I only get a tiny bit on wrists nothing to bother about it's my ankles and lower legs. I'm taking 2x multi vitamin which I think is helping as I heard it's linked to vit B.
Oh, yes, i forgot. I have seen magnesium supplements recommended for RLS. I have been taking them for a month or so but haven't noticed any difference. I take 2 Mirapexin a night as well.
My brain would explode if someone held me down or had anything on my legs. It would be a lot of work when I get my RLS in my back and hips amd have to egt up every 10 minutes and stumble around. Th other night at my friend's house on the west coast (USA) I was up unyil 6:30 a.m. My legs were buts all niht, explodes all night, so holding them down would have been impossible. I stretch as much as I can and get into really weid postions, though. also, I lay backwards over my exercise ball, and stretch my back out. too much surgery, and my RLS starts there. Also, get it in arms, torso, legs, shoulders. Not enough weights in the world,. but glad it works for you! Always nice to hear a postive thing that works for for some of us!
If weighted traction helps some RLS suffers doesn't it make you wonder if this condition really is neurological + musculosketal? It is only recently that I have seen some healthcare providers exclaim that this is ONLY a neurological condition.
Sheet pressure on my toes makes them tingle and jittery, however, the idea of weighted traction is intriguing.
Still finding that no caffeine, sugar, alcohol and < salt are helping tremendously.
