My Mom had RLS, my Dad had Parkinsons - any guesses whether my Requip would mask Parkinsons symptoms?

This is all i know on this subject. If you have RLS then it doesnt mean Parkinsons will follow, if thats what you are asking.

People with Parkinsons can also suffer with RLS.

Sorry i cant be more helpful as its not an area that i am familiar with..

There is a forum on here which deals with Parkinsons, maybe you can get a better answer from them.

The dosage of Requip is far less than that required for Parkinsons',

therefore I would suggest the answer to your question is No.

Having said that, if you are still worried, see your GP to put your mind at rest-:)

I agree with Darcy. While one of your parents has PD, it does not mean you will get it, and having RLS does not put you at more risk of Parkinson's, but it does go the other way around. People with Parkinson's are 18 times more likely to develop RLS.

What dose of Requip are you on? A Parkinson's dose is a ton higher than an RLS dose. You start getting into the Parkinson's dose at 6-8 mgs, depending on which doctor you talk to. But, if you are concerned about developing PD, seeing a neurologist is your best bet. My Dad had Parkinson's, too.
