I have not posted here in awhile but I have to tell anyone that is looking for help with RLS in Georgia that Dr. Kendall Nichols at Emory is fantastic! I have gone from 12mg of Ropinirole a day to 1-1/4mg in approximately a year and thanks to doctor Nichols the journey has been a lot better than I expected. The biggest issue I have had is the medications that we have tried to use as a substitute for the Ropinirole have not worked due to the side effects the first was gabapentin which worked but I was unable to continue with it because all I wanted to do was sleep which was affecting all aspects of my life. Next we tried Lyrica which had severe side effects for me due to my depression and anxiety issues which Lyrica greatly increased. I have used low doses of oxicodone to help with coming off of the Ropinirole which has made this journey a lot easier than I could have expected. Dr Nichols has been with me every step of the way and we are continuing towards a successful treatment. We expect to be off the Ropinirole in about 2 months.
