Hi you knowledgeable lot.

How soon can withdrawal set in? I’ve reduced my pramipexole from 5 at night to 4 for the last 3 nights and feel rough. I feel tearful, chilly, sick have a headache and I’ve been dry wrenching (not eaten) as feel sick. I feel really tired too. I believe from the forum this is common. I’m obviously going to carry on getting off them. Do I just need to grin and bear it? Thanks, 😌

It can start the first night you reduce. But you are reducing too quickly. You should reduce by 1/2 of a .088 pill or half of a .125 pill depending on how your pills are described. So go back up by half a pill.

The most common withdrawal symptom is increased, severe RLS and leg jerks. But as it affects the brain, you can develop all manner of withdrawal symptoms. And yes, they start immediately.

As SueJohnson says, you're reducing too quickly.

See the RLS-UK website for a printable withdrawal schedule and recommended iron therapy.

I have looked and I don't see a withdrawal schedule. Where is it?

Under Useful Resources. There's an iron therapy and a DA withdrawal schedule. And although it lists NHS and NICE info on RLS, there is a disclaimer about dopamine agonists.

I found it. I hadn't paged down on that page.

Hi Jools. On that Useful Resources page, do you know where does the DA reference "relegated to end-of-life treatment" comes from?

The American Academy of Sleep guidance, prepared by Dr Berkowski. We all commented on the draft guidelines, but I think they've now been approved.

Hi, 0.088 of pramipexole, I felt sick most of the day and felt off but not as bad as yesterday. As soon as I take them in the evening I feel fine. I just want off them now but will do it gradually like everyone had advised. I’m hoping to hear from the neurologist soon as he was seeking advice about my case.
