I’ve been on Dilaudid 4mg three times a day.

I saw a new pain specialist who specialises in Ehlers Danlos Syndrome, the reason I have such severe pain.

I was using the 10mcg patches, but couldn’t stand the itching and rashes and bruises from scratching in my sleep, and NOTHING helped with this.

Also massive dizziness and vertigo.

Switched to Temgesic 200mcg, but went into immediate withdrawal of my Dilaudid.

Is this usual???

I am DESPERATE, please help!!!

Can you confirm what patches you were using? Are you still on 12mg dilaudid? If you are on a Buprenorphine patch of 10mcg and your doctor switched you to 0.2 (200mcg) of temgesic pills, you will experience withdrawal because the dose equivalence is wrong. You need 0.4 or 400mcg pills.

If your doctor has you on dilaudid AND Buprenorphine, the Buprenorphine will push the dilaudid off the opioid receptors. You shouldn't take other opioids with Buprenorphine.

So, see another doctor to discuss fully.

Also, Buprenorphine causes severe nausea and dizziness for the first 2 weeks. You will need an anti nausea med or cannabis.

Do you have RLS? If so, most anti nausea meds make it worse, so ask for zofran. The nausea does settle after 2 weeks or so.

Not what you're looking for?
