Hi...I wondered if anyone can help. My RLS have been helped by gabapentin. I take 5 x 300mg and its stopped the evening RLS and about 70% od the night timw RLS. Which is great for me. However i now snore terribly. I never used to so I am pretty sure its the gabapenrin. Its becoming quite an issue for me and my wife. Anyone any ideas/smilar experiences? I obviously dont want to come off gaba as its finally something that helps

You might have sleep apnea which can possibly be a result of gabapentin. I would have a sleep study done to check this out.
You might want to try switching to pregabalin. Although it is basically the same drug except you don't need to divide the doses, and the side effects are basically the same, some people find that the side effects that bother them on one don't bother them on the other. Divide the gabapentin amount by 6 to get the correct dose which in your case would be .
If and only if you don't have sleep apnea one thing that can help is mouth strips. It keeps your mouth closed so you breathe through your nose. I used them for something else and they kept my mouth closed all night. amazon.com/gp/product/B09Z6...
Just to add to Sue's comment on the mouth strips. I used to have problems with dry mouth and sore throat in the morning, and would sometimes wake up in a terrible panic unable to breathe (and making a loud snoring noise). Using a very small strip of micropore tape every night (like a little Hitler moustache over the centre of my lips) has now eliminated that problem. I really don't notice the tape, I don't snore, and I don't have the other symptoms I mentioned above. Worth a try.
Thank you for your replies. I think I'm also having other side effects, especially swollen wrists and ankles. The clumsiness and staggering around I can cope with, but more worried about the fluid retention. I think I'll discuss swapping to pregablin with my GP.Thanks again
