been on gabapentin (for migraine and RLS) 300mg (in the evening) a few days, I had gastritis (I think) a month ago and already I can feel the pain and discomfort coming back in my stomach and into my back.
It's rather dissapointing as the gastritis is what triggered everything to flare up in the first place
Im already on Omeprazole 20mg which I also think is aggravating RLS
Its a never ending merry go around...
Is Pregabalin better for the stomach? Any help gratefully received

I was on Gabapentin for about 4/5 months but it gave me terrible diarrhoea. I switched to pregabalin and I have found it much better. Hope that helps.
I know omeprazole stops iron absorption and low serum ferritin can cause RLS. I don’t know of any alternatives but I do have friends with stomach issues who have had good results with strong pro biotics like Symprove and VSL3.
Interestingly there is a study in the UK led by Prof Choudhuri of Kings College Hospital on using Symprove to help Parkinsons Disease.
The theory is that a leaky gut causes auto immune disease.
RLS is a disease that uses similar meds to Parkinsons ( dopamine agonists) so maybe it’s worth a try.
Thanks yes I think it's all down to my gut, problem is I think i have SIBO so probiotics seem to make me worse, tried Symprove a while back and it made me worse. Took some LP229V last nite as an experiment and Im definitely worse this morning with bloating and stomach pain. Will speak with my neuro about maybe switching to Pregabalin
I took probiotics (for years, many different types) stopped recently and have felt much better gut-wise. I still take fermented foods daily. Try Oil of Oregano (4 drops mixed in a carrier oil) for SIBO. Here's a website, search "SIBO, Oil of Oregano" for more sibosurvivor.com/oregano-oi...
I am in the USA. I used Zane Hellas and put 4 drops on a tablespoon and mixed it with MCT Oil or Olive Oil. Beware - it burns a little, just follow it with a little tea or coffee.
