Serum Ferrotin levels

Hello All

Cant find my last blood test or remember the numbers ☹️. Can anyone remind me what the ideal levels should be for awful RLS please ?

RlS sufferers benefit from ferritin levels over 100 μg/L, preferably 200 or higher.

On the basis of a consensus of RLS experts, it is recommended that all RLS patients with serum ferritin concentration of 75 μg/L or less and transferrin saturation(TSAT) below 45% should receive a trial of oral iron therapy

(An iron infusion would be quicker than oral iron, but difficult to get in much of the UK unless you're diagnosed with iron deficiency anaemia).

You had a ferritin of 42.

The 42 μg/L ferritin figure that Sue reminds you about was from your test nearly a year ago, when Sue also advised on supplementation to improve your levels... you said just over a week ago that you were about to have another blood test, so hopefully you have - or will see - a better result now.
