Augmentation

In yesterdays "breaking news" draft guidelines posted by Joolsg there was an essential point made that one of the future RLS aims should be to research DA augmentation and recovery from this desperate scenario.

I am now in my 6 month since augmenting from DAs (mainly rotigotine) and suspect that I am still having some withdrawal symptoms.

I would be interested to know about people's experience and research, if any, that has been done on the time it takes for receptors to "repair" (if ever) and the withdrawal side effects during recovery?

It settles within less than 6 months for 61% of sufferers and just over a year for another 23%. jnnp.bmj.com/content/jnnp/8...

One article said it can take 14 months for the receptors to recover. jnnp.bmj.com/content/jnnp/8...

But both articles were talking about drug addicts so I don't know the answer for recovery from the amounts used for RLS.

Interesting!

I was forced to give up smoking at 19 . Choice between cigarettes or my girlfriend .🤔

I'm 77 now and can still feel a pull or 'wanting' in my stomach at times, for a cigarette!!

Addiction and withdrawal recovery are such complex and powerful situations.💥
