Ive been on Gabapentin for five years, went from 300mg to 1800mg ending dose. It's effect just didn't work well for me, if it was, I had a hard time knowing it. So I asked if I could switch to Pregabalin. ( Advice from this site ) The DR. approved and started the dose at .75mg twice a day, didn't work. I asked for 300mg for a daily dose and the DR. declined but did approve 100mg twice a day. From advice from this site I take both (200mg total) at 8:30 pm. So far (60 days now) it's been working well. Now my RLS experiences are less severe and instead of everyday, now maybe 3-4 times a week. Hopefully I can stay on just 200mg. daily. Just a note: Sometimes the RLS kicks in early, say 7pm. When it does I take a one 375mg delta 9 - cbg gummy and it helps a lot.
"A big THANKS for all you help."

I suggest you print out the section of the Mayo Updated Algorithm at Https://mayoclinicproceedings.org/a... where it shows that the usual effective dose is 150 to 450 daily and show it to your doctor so you can increase it by .25 mg every couple of days until you don't have RLS 4 to 5 days a week. Afterall s/he was willing to prescribe 1800 mg of gabapentin which is equal to 300 mg of pregabalin. Https://pubmed.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/23018586/
I am on 1800mg of Gabapentin but NOT for RLS. I take it for pain. I had been on 2800mg but my PC doctor decided it was too high for my weight. I don’t know if it helps that much for my pain but I know that the one time that I couldn’t get a refill on for over a week I just didn’t “feel right”. My spasticity in my legs worsened, I”felt” more. Keep in mind that YOU know your body.
