Yes as long as you don't exceed the maximum amount.

Completely agree. Suspect it has contributed to my ear buzzing/hyperacuisis. Wish I hadn’t started it.

Whether you can safely take gabapentin and pregabalin at the same time is a question that only a qualified healthcare professional can answer. Both gabapentin and pregabalin are medications used to treat nerve pain, but they work in similar ways and can have additive side effects if taken together.

Risks:

Increased side effects: Combining gabapentin and pregabalin can increase the risk of side effects such as dizziness, drowsiness, confusion, difficulty concentrating, and impaired coordination. This is especially true for older adults.

Respiratory depression: Both gabapentin and pregabalin can slow down your breathing, and taking them together may increase this risk. This is especially dangerous for people with breathing problems or sleep apnea.

Addiction: Both medications can be addictive, and taking them together may increase the risk of dependence or misuse.

Benefits:

Improved pain relief: In some cases, taking low doses of both gabapentin and pregabalin may provide better pain relief than taking a higher dose of just one medication. This is usually only considered when someone cannot tolerate a higher dose of one medication due to side effects.

It is important to note that:

Combining gabapentin and pregabalin is not the usual course of treatment.

There is limited research on the long-term safety and effectiveness of taking these medications together.

If you are considering taking both medications, it is important to talk to your doctor about the risks and benefits carefully.

Do not take gabapentin and pregabalin together unless your doctor has specifically instructed you to do so.

If you are taking both medications, be aware of the potential side effects and monitor yourself closely for any changes.

Talk to your doctor immediately if you experience any serious side effects, such as difficulty breathing, severe dizziness, or confusion.

I hope this information is helpful. Please remember that I am not a medical professional and cannot provide medical advice. Always consult with your doctor before taking any new medication or making changes to your existing medication regimen.
