lyrica
Yes. It is another name for pregabalin which once you are done breastfeeding is a good one to take. I have seen studies that say it is safe while breast feeding and others that say it isn't. It does appear in the milk so you might want to ask you doctor more closely about that. If you do decide to take it post back here and I can give you some advice.
I tried pregabalin for 4 mths to maximum dose 450Mg I think it was. I had memory loss, difficulty with sentences and blurry vision. I have severe RL but it never worked for me. Others have much better results and are happy on it.
I haven't seen anything to the effect that Lyrica (pregabalin) is safe while breastfeeding.
It's only recommended (in both pregnancy and breastfeeding) where there's a significant risk to the mother in not taking it. It's concerning that your doctor is saying that it's safe.
I researched this a lot as i was taking pregabalin when i became pregnant (at which point i ceased it immediately); and didn't resume it until after i'd finished breastfeeding. I stopped BF at 7 months PP because i needed to go back on medication.
It's just not worth the risk.
MadLegs and Jools have given good advice around the likelihood of your RLS being iron related, given that you experienced it in pregnancy. It's a no-brainer. Get your iron levels back up before considering any of these medications.
caused severe weight gain for me … gained 20+lbs. Also, very sedating, I was initially at 75mg and over a few months this needed to be upped to 300mg. Experienced “brain fog”, some memory loss and extreme difficulty getting up to go to work. Moderated my RLS somewhat but I ended up stopping treatment
