Hi - has anyone had any experience in doing this? I'm currently doing 150mg PG and 600mg GP. The GP is refusing to prescribe both but I'm finding I have better results doing this.
Also has anyone had any recent experience with Botox? My physio came up with a very positive research paper on it and apparently it's currently prescribed for spasticity. I've seen some old post but nothing recently
Thank you!

Why is your doctor refusing to do it? There is certainly no reason not to.
I haven't had any experience in it, but Botox injections at the applied dose can reduce the severity of symptoms in RLS up to 6 weeks. Moreover, the quality of life of the RLS patient can be improved for up to 6 weeks post-injection, and pain and discomfort diminished for 4 weeks." according to a placebo controlled study. Injections were into the tibialis anterior, gastrocnemius, and hamstring muscle each side. Perhaps this is the same study you saw.
Thanks Sue - he couldn't really explain it apart from saying that the effect of combining could cause breathing difficulties and unconsciousness and then fell back on that he wasn't allowed to do it. I just wondered if anyone else had managed to get both prescribed which means that he was talking rubbish!
Yes on the subject of Botox, again I wondered if anyone else was using this, what the results were and how easy it was to get on prescription?
That's ridiculous. Since you have tried it, you can tell him it doesn't cause breathlessness for you and how well it works. And it certainly doesn't cause unconsciousness. That is not a side effect of either. They are basically the same drug. And who is telling him he can't do it? Can you get a referral to a neurologist who would certainly know better or can you change doctors?
