has anybody been tested for unusually high cholesterol while on gabapentin ?

It's not common but it can lead to a rise in LDL level with gabapentin therapy; it needs to be monitored during therapy, especially in patients with deranged lipid profile.

I can't find similar reports about pregabalin, so it may be sensible to switch to pregabalin to see if the cholesterol levels come down.
