Hi everyone, I was put on a BP tab.called Ibersartan a few months ago so I now take one Ibersartan plus one Lercanidipine daily.since I started on the Ibersartan I have awful Tinnitus, I do believe this new tab.is the cause,I'm ringing my Gp today to ask him to change the Ibersartan for another BP tab.can anyone please advise me on which BP meds don't cause this horrendous Tinnitus, thankyou🙏

I take Olmersatin and Amlodipine without any bad side effects.

I do get a certain amount of itching, but that could be from the opioids I'm on.

Thankyou Madlegs1 for your reply,I did check out side effects of Ibersartan and it does state ringing in ears as one of the side effects so here's hoping my gp will take the time to check out whatever else she gives me.

You want an Angiotensin II receptor blockers (ARBs) which is what Lercanidipine is. Some examples are candesartan, olmesartan and telmisartan. Exceptions are irbesartan (which you found out) , losartan, and valsartan which are also ARB's but did report tinnitus as a possible side effect.

Avoid ace inhibitors since tinnitus is a side effect.

Beta blockers are a questionable. Some do cause tinnitus. Carvedilol and labetalol are probably OK

Thankyou Sue,I really do appreciate your very informative advice, when it comes to meds.im not familiar with them at all so it's soo helpful to come on to this forum for help.
