New to medication

Sue, I know someone who has suffered with RLS for many years and has never tried a medication. I believe from reading Gabapentin is better than the often doctor prescribed Pramipexole due augmentation.

Is that correct?

Absolutely !!! Pramipexole and ropinirole used to be first line treatment for RLS which is why so many doctors prescribe it. But it no longer is because up to 70% of people on it will suffer from augmentation and it can be hell to come off it, Refer your friend to the Mayo Clinic Updated Algorithm on RLS which will tell her/him everything they want to know including about its treatment and refer your doctor to it if needed as many doctors do not know much about RLS or are not uptodate on it at Https://mayoclinicproceedings.org/a...
