If I can help one desperate fellow RL sufferer.....

A while back I posted that I was going to stop my withdrawal of Pexola.......a family member who as I do suffered with chronic RL for close to twenty years changed the method of taking her medication and no RL. I decided to follow her method, as I, like so many of us was desperate!! 0.25mg three times a day. I was taking 1mg at night. From the first day my RL ceased. I watched TV without jumping up every 5 minutes (kept waiting for them to start) went to bed and although my sleep pattern is dreadful I never had the "crawlies". To fast forward.....I read the forum everyday and knew it was only a matter of time before the augmentation was going to kick in. I have cut down to 0.25mg at 2pm and 0.25mg at 8pm and just before bed take magnesium. All my other medications I take in the morning including my iron (I know it's advised to take at night). The withdrawal has been minimal compared to when I previously went off the Pexola and nearly went "mad"!! I am finding my RL only play up every so often around 3am and if I get up have a cuppa and go back to bed I can turn over and go back to sleep. Will cut down to only 0.25mg at night and eventually come off the Pexola completely.

I read everyday how each member of the forum reacts differently to medications and what method works for one doesn't for the other. If I can help just one person have the success I have had with this debilitating syndrome called "Restless legs" and can get off Pexola without the dreadful withdrawal it will make me very a happy chappy!!!

I am hoping by the time I have completed my withdrawal my iron levels will be up and I won't need any medication!!! Only time will tell.....oneday at a time!!! Was on Lyrica and had side affects I didn't like........ "fog" brain and felt sleepy for most of the day.

Again this forum is an absolute blessing........have learnt so much and find solace that I am not alone!!!

Thank you for you positive feedback!!

Wouldn't it be wonderful!!!

I am house-sitting my grandoggies. My daughter and her family are away for a week. When I get home I will take the next step and stop the 2pm dose. Will keep you posted on the journey.

Take care

Just to keep you updated...........legs still behaving relatively well. Still have the odd little "crawlies" but nothing compared to what I had in the past and especially during my withdrawal from the 1mg of Pexola!!I follow Dr Mandell and he posted a video of "Legs Up the Wall". It was something I did and it definitely does help but don't wait until you climbing the wall, do it before going to bed. I have resumed doing this and don't know why I ever stopped! I have read some of the comments and a lot of RL sufferers have attested to the relief it gives them. I would suggest people with serious back problems should be cautious. I did read people with Glaucoma should not do this.

Let's say " every little bit helps"

Take care
