I’ve been off pramapexole and on gabapentin for about 12 weeks, I have diarrhoea first thing in the morning can last couple hours, headache, lifeless fir the same amount of time not much energy, how long do these side effects continue for? The good thing is my restless legs are much better, should I be contacting my doctor, your help when I was changing over was invaluable, can you help me with this.

At this point the are unlikely to go away. You might want to try switching to pregabalin. Although it is basically the same drug except you don't need to divide the doses, and the side effects are basically the same, some people find that the side effects that bother them on one don't bother them on the other. Divide the gabapentin amount by 6 to get the correct dose.

If that doesn't work and you decide t come off it, reduce the pregabalin by 25 mg every 2 weeks to avoid side effects.

I have been on Gabapentin for years. I never had the side effects you describe. The only problem I have is tiredness. Feels like I always need a nap. I do take other drugs which may add to the problem.
