FYI: I wrote to one of the doctors who created TOMAC and he wrote back and told me it is unlikely to help with PLMD.

Thanks for letting us know Wantokporo. I have read something similar. TOMAC (tonic motor activation) devices seem to provide temporary relief from RLS. Usually it's sufficient to allow the user to fall asleep. This being the case, it would appear that it most definitely isn't helpful for those of us with PLMD.

According to google 80% of people with RLS also have PLMD.

Or maybe what you are saying - it will help you go back to sleep but you will wake up again shortly after?

I have no idea. Brian Koo, the creator, simply answered it would not help with PLMD.

Sorry to hear that. I asked about it being available in the UK for RLS sufferers here but trials in the US will continue for another 18 months or so.

Was talking with my doctor about the new device here in the US. We agreed that its very limited to those sufferers with with lower leg symptoms only. Probably wouldn't be much help for upper body arms and torso symptoms.

Not what you're looking for?
