I have been taking Dihydrocodeine successfully for over 20 years. Recently I've been prescribed an anti-depressant (Mirtazapine 15mg), and I find it's either stopping the Dihydrocodeine from working properly, or it's making the RLS worse.

Does anyone know of an anti-depressent that won't interfere?

Regards,

Lorrinet

The only RLS safe anti depressants are trazodone and Bupropion. Unfortunately, Bupropion is unavailable in the UK and Europe at present because of contamination in the manufacturing process. If the anti depressant was prescribed for anxiety, trazodone will be helpful. Benzodiazepenes are also RLS safe.

All SSRI, SNRI and tricyclical anti depressants will trigger/worsen RLS.

Look at the RLSUK website. It lists medications to avoid.
