which of these is the best or least side effects etc. I know everybody is different but wondering if one is better than the other. Seeing my gp this week. Thanks

They are basically the same drug so are equally effective. The side effects are basically the same, although some people find that the side effects that bother them on one don't bother them on the other so if you do have ones you can't live with, you can easily switch to the other. The advantage of pregabalin is you can take it all in one dose. I always advise to start with gabapentin because you can increase it in smaller doses. Then when you find the dose that controls your symptoms you can switch to pregabalin if you want by dividing the gabapentin dose by 6.

The other difference is if you live in the US pregabalin is more expensive.

I couldn't tolerate pregablin personally but doctor just switched me over to gabapentin.As Sue says some people suit pregablin & others, like me, are better on gabapentin.
