Cheaper Horizont

I just started Horizont after failing on gabapentin and pregabalin. I had long ago crossed Horizont off my list because of its expense and being an extended release pill, and I only have issues sleeping. Well, it is possible to get Truax much, much cheaper at Truax Patient Services. I thought there might be income limits, etc., but there are not. You can find them online. Also, I am only on my fourth day but the daytime sedation is no worse than what I experienced on the other two.

Finally, this pill is absorbed first through the stomach, not the liver. I am hopeful that that might make a difference in my ability to tolerate it long term, but I do not know that yet. All of these things might make a difference to some of you.

Just curious. How much does it cost?

Did you also check out the Horizant's prescription savings card ?

With GoodRx Horizont in Santa Cruz, California cost around $450 for 30 tablets. Truax for 30 costs $55 (that's with shipping), and it goes down from there if you buy it for 3 months, which I didn't get since I'm not sure I'll be able to tolerate it. I don't know what Horizont's prescription savings card does (I didn't see it) but I was pretty excited/impressed with Truax's price reduction. (It's pathetic what impressses us these days regarding drug costs.)

Wow - that is great. That's exactly the same cost as the prescription savings card.
