I have noticed that sucking a sweet got my mind off RLS. It helps to get back to sleep as mind is occupied with something nice. Hope this works for someone! 🤞

There could indeed be a "reward pathway" for dopamine release anticipating and realizing the candy sweet as a goal reached.
"Dopamine is known as the feel-good neurotransmitter—a chemical that ferries information between neurons. The brain releases it when we eat food that we crave or while we have sex, contributing to feelings of pleasure and satisfaction as part of the reward system. This important neurochemical boosts mood, motivation, and attention, and helps regulate movement, learning, and emotional responses."
Hi Moonwalker - Just don't go to sleep with the sweet in your mouth. Because of very dry mouth I use special sugar-free lozenges to promote saliva production. I took one during the night and fell asleep whilst still sucking it. Fortunately I awoke half an hour later with the remains of the lozenge still in my mouth.😁
Oh yessssss, that's happened to me years ago, I nearly choked. Woken up and it was still not dissolved. I was soooo tired, I didn't care
