Getting off Neupro. What to expect.

Did you reduce slowly over months or did you stop cold turkey?

I had been taking Neupro 2mg for over a year so my neurologist gave me a prescription for 1mg and told me to take it for one month, then stop.

That may be very tough! Cold turkey is no fun. Many on here ignore the Cold turkey advice because the withdrawal symptoms can be too unbearable.

Maybe see how you feel dropping to 1mg and if not traumatic, you could try going cold turkey for the last 1mg.

If you struggle, put the 1mg patch back on and then cut it in quarters and reduce 0.25mg every 2 weeks.

What replacement meds have been discussed?

Thanks, Joolsg. I have a message into my doc and will see what he replies. I will ask him for more 1mg patches and do as you suggested -cut in quarters and taper. Thank you.
