I met with Dr. Anderson two years ago about his surgery for RLS. He is located about 15 miles from me in Boulder Colorado. He did some neurologic tests on my feet and legs and said I was not a candidate. My RLS case is severe, and I am at a desperate stage. It is possible that his surgery was for a certain type involving a specific neuropathy. He seemed surprised at my test results. It would be very interesting if some successful cases stepped forward.

It would be so great if a surgery would correct RLS. The drugs stink! Pramipexole worked great for 20 years before augmentation set in big time. Lyrica and the like didn't work and have bad side effects for me. Methadone is a crutch that only reduces the pain intensity. It does nothing for the frequency or underlying condition. Iron infusions didn't work on repeated trials. I am seeing a renowned specialist.

I am from Canada but flew to CO and had the surgery on both legs. Dr. Anderson told me prior to surgery that one of the factors for success was when that the restlessness was more in the lower leg. I have found relief, however in my case I believe I have more restlessness just abound my knees then I realized. So it is not gone and I do still take my oxycodone. I have been able to cut my dose by half. Which is good! It has taken me a long time to heal two incisions, but I am overweight and have big legs so we expect that is why. I had the surgery July 6 and 13. I have talked to several people who had the surgery and have done very well. Even better then me. I actually am in a video on his YouTube. I did have pancake shape nerve, so was a candidate. Dr. Anderson also wrote a book which is a informative. I can sleep through 70% nights with 5 mg of oxy. I also would wake with terrible burning in my feet which my husband would have to massage for me, that is now gone. Let me know if you have any specific questions. Happy to share my experience.
