I am new here. Is there such a thing as a RLS tracking app?

Is there any apps that track RLS?

I want to track its severity, triggers, my movement, diet, emotions,....sleep.

I have had RSL for 36 years, have been laughed at by doctors over the years as they had no idea what I was talking about and recently was told by my neurologist 'at least it is benign'. Which was really helpful, thank you!

I realise he assumes that he knows my suffering as he has treated others and without getting to know fully my history and symptoms I am dismissed.

If I was able to track it, maybe I could help myself and maybe he would pay a bit more attention to it.

That is a totally heartless reply. Get in touch with Shumbah, she is also in Australia. She may be able to help with doctors if you are on the easy coast. I think she is in Brisbane. There are others on this forum from Oz to turn to for specific advice.

Hoe are you treating your RLS currently? Be aware of aggravating medicines and the importance if iron. See the guidelines. And do some reading on this forum, you'll learn very quickly.

You need to change doctors. Improving your ferritin to 100 or more helps 60% of people with RLS and in some cases completely eliminates their symptoms. When you see your doctor ask for a full iron panel. Stop taking any iron supplements 48 hours before the test, fast after midnight and have your test in the morning when your ferritin is lowest. When you get the results, ask for your ferritin and transferrin saturation (TSAT) numbers. You want your transferrin saturation to be over 20% but less than 45% and your ferritin to be at least 100. If they are not , post them here and we can give you advice. When you get your results, if your ferritin is not over 100, post them here and we can give you advice.

Some things that can make RLS symptoms worse for some people are alcohol, nicotine, caffeine, sugar, carbs, foods high in sodium, foods that cause inflammation, ice cream, estrogen, dehydration, electrolyte imbalance, melatonin, stress and vigorous exercise. Some things that help some people include caffeine, moderate exercise, weighted blankets, compression socks, elastic bandages, masturbation, magnesium glycinate, low oxalate diet, selenium, 5 minute shower alternating 20 seconds cold water with 10 seconds hot water finishing with hot water for another couple of minutes, hot baths, distractions, applying a topical magnesium lotion or spray, doing a magnesium salts soak, vitamins B1, B3, B6, B12, D3, K2, if deficient, and potassium and copper if deficient, massage including using a massage gun, using a standing desk, listening to music and yoga.

Are you taking any medicines or OTC Supplements? Many can make RLS worse. If you list the here I can tell you whether that is the case and can perhaps give you a safe substitute.

what a great idea! Without opening a google play account, this app is $5.99 but it led me to checking things out and there are a lot of other free options out there. Very cool! It would be great to be able to have a comprehensive way to track this stuff on our phones. Right now I just have an old paper notebook which I don’t carry with me, so something like this is much better (too bad for whatever privacy infringement accompanies it, lol). Cheers!

Regarding your interesting question on an RLS tracking app, I did an internet search and found the following app:

rlsapp.allartsoftworks.com/

It appears to be in the final stages of development and is coming soon to the Play store and the apple app store. I think I will try it after it is vetted by Apple and is actually in the app store.

The website is from 2018 as the footer states. Doesn’t look like what they are teasing will actually happen. Too bad.
