Appt with Dr Buchfuhrer

Hello all,

I have an appointment with Dr. B in October and wanted to know from other patients what to expect.

I’ve been taking 5 mg oxy for neck issues, and that has done double duty for RLS. Since we’re moving states I’ll no longer be able to get those meds

I’m wondering about Dr. B.’s medicine recommendation and how he handles experimentation if I live out of state? Can he prescribe meds out of state?

And does he prefer methadone next, or another painkiller like buprin?

Yes, Dr. Buchfuhrer can prescribe out of state - the question is whether the state you're in will accept out-of-state opioid prescribers. And after that, will your pharmacy fill an opioid prescription from said prescriber. You may have to try several. He will continue to send e-prescriptions to other pharmacies until you find one that will fill it. Do you mind saying which state you're moving to?

My guess is that methadone is his first opioid choice, as I believe that it's normally the cheapest. I'm pretty sure that he'd experiment with others if need be.
