Would a foot and leg massager relieve symptoms?
It definitely does for me.
Hi Madlegs1 - which make do you use if you don't mind me asking?
I have various ones bought over many years.
The earlier types were long handled hammer action vibrators - handy for getting at the back and difficult to reach places.
The new ones are pistol shaped- good for exerting greater pressure, but more difficult if one has weak arms.
I use both types. Brad n Bob (sp?) Is one recommended here, I got it on Amazon - about €100 a few years ago. I find it very good- no batteries- just a phone charger.
About 10 minutes on the calves and back of legs is very relaxing.
Good luck.
It helps many people. Are you taking any medicine for your RLS? Have you had your ferritin checked?
I second what Sue said…there have been many reports in recent months from community members who have had great success with percussion massagers…which sounds like it could be the same thing Madlegs described. After all the positive feedback recently, I plan to get one when my symptoms eventually become bad enough to break through my current medication dosage.
Do you know if a firm massage of your legs/feet (by hand) helps you? If so, it may be a pretty good indicator of potential success with a massaging device. If you get one, please let us know if it helps you. I hope it does.
