Have you transitioned from Sinemet to Mirapex and then back to Sinemet?

Sinemet to Mirapex to Sinemet
Not for RLS NO.
Both contain L Dopa which is not recommended for RLS, certainly not a regular (daily) basis.
This is because for regular relief of RLS symptoms there are alternative medications that are recommended.
It's also because all dopaminergic agents have a high risk of causing dopaminergic augmentation of RLS and L Dopa carrries the highest risk.
The two recommended first line treatments for RLS are either the alpha 2 delta ligands or the dopamine agonists.
The ligands are now preferred to the agonists in order to prevent dopaminergic augmentation. The risk of dopaminergic augmentation from taking an agonist is less than for L Dopa but it's still very high.
The further risk is that once dopaminergic augmentation has been caused, a ligand is less likely to work at all.
Sinemet or Madopar for RLS? NEITHER really. These are for Parkinson's Disease.
Thank you.
