Well heres a thing ,having had the Astra Zenaca jab yesterday morning I had the best nights sleep for almost three years, in fact since the early days of Ropinirole. Nothing else was different, not a hint of RLS really wierd but very welcome, anyone else experience similar I wonder?

Wow, fingers crossed it's a good side effect, it'll be a long time before I get the jab as it's all happening very slow indeed in ireland and I'm way down the list! Wouldn't it be wonderful if the covid vaccine got rid of rls for good, keep us posted!

Interesting.

Please keep us posted on how long this lasts, I hope it's a long, long time.

Do you have RLS every night? I suppose what I am asking is could it be a coincidence? Maybe you were up and about more with getting the jag and there was some thing in your behaviour that day that might hold some ideas.

No, oddly the only thing different yesterday was having the jab at 10.00am I took no exercise at all during the day, tookthe normalish dose of Pregab 125mg at 9.pm. and then shear bliss. Yes I do get Rls every night partially relieved by the above supplemented with Kratom in the early hours when things arn`t going well, I`m keeping my fingers crossed but i quite expect to be back to normal tonight.

I'll keep mine crossed for you too. Good luck with tonight and don't forget to let us all know how you get on.

Wonderful! Hope the effect lasts for ages & the same happens to me ( maybe early March, am 2 months off 70 ) & others. There’s this odd effect not yet explained but recognised anecdotally from Dr B & others’ clinics, & which I’ve noted before, of improvement during fever/other illnesses so maybe due to same effect whatever it is

Like Alison, I was immediately reminded of the lack of RLS many people report during proper flu (not just a cold). The vaccine is supposed to activate our immune system and the same happens during flu. A cold does too, but maybe to a lesser extent. I do wonder what aspect of activation of the immune system it is that represses the RLS. And I am not sure we want to trade RLS for being ill all the time.

This fascinates me as I cannot understand why an immune response would effect rls at all unless bacteria is an underlying cause. In my case gut bacteria plays a large role since rls has moved into my torso and left arm. One of the ways I treat it is with ADP from Biotics Research emulsified oregano oil tablets. Soft gel doesn't get into the small intestine well. I also fast regularly, eat one small meal a day with a few nibbles here and there. I've lost 30lbs and struggle continually to maintain normal weight. It doesn't help my legs or arm but it does stop the crawling in my torso around my gut so worth the high cost. Getting my Vax this week so fingers crossed, maybe I'll get one night's sleep.

Also, I've taken every drug and every homeopathic treatment that I know of and opioids are the only thing that really works without augmentation and horrible side effects.

How lovely that must have been, to sleep peacefully. I truly hope it continues for you 🤞Like Alison7, I'm 70 in March, so not expecting my vaccination yet, but, it would truly be wonderful if ease from RLS was a side effect. Hopefully, many others will be adding to your comments with good results. Please let us know if it's a long lasting effect. Hope so xx

Back to normal I`m afraid last night, ah well, second jab to look forward to.

in reply toBumble34

God damn it Bumble, I had my sleeve rolled up and everything.

I am so sorry it didn't keep working.

It probably countered your gut bacteria that are involved in rls, at least for one night. Try emulsified oregano oil tablets. You may experience some relief if you can source them. I use Biotics Research ADP.

I had the Pfizer jab and my restless legs did not wake me until 4am was delighted next night back to normal . When I was on pramoprexol I slept well but kicked my husband the whole night through . Stopped taking it as I felt hungover when I woke and as I was still kicking no point .

Well Bumble34 did you sleep well last night? Are you still asleep!?!?!?
