When a passenger in car or bus or train or airplane, my right leg is a problem within 30 minutes. On Sunday night I was a car passenger for four hours without a problem. What I did was to raise my right leg as far as possible 40 times every 15 minutes. Before the trip started I walked briskly for about ten minutes.

During a later part of the trip, I waited until my leg started to feel bad before raising my leg. Even when doing it continuously, that did not solve the problem. Apparently preventing the problem is easier than solving the problem.

Note: this only works if I have not taken significant caffeine in the last 6 hours.

I read that a woman said she didn't have rls in the car after buying a cushion to sit on. I had a cushion so did not know if that's why I don't have it in the car anymore. the underside of my knees does not hit the cushion or the seat.

Hello, May I ask, what type of cushion are you using? The last time I was on a road trip all I thought about was jumping out of the car because both legs went crazy. I had to endure for 3 hours in the back seat of my car. I haven't done that again because it was hell. We stayed in a hotel and I walked around the hotel the entire night.

I should have mentioned that the legs should be raised as quickly as possible. Have any of you tried this yet?

Hi! Have only just got out of bed in the UK after a bad night. I'll try what you describe next time I'm on a journey. These tips are always worthwhile.

I haven't been on a car journey yet. I do agree a cushion works. I did try moving my legs up and down faster when doing my exercises this morning. But it's good to put these individual findings on the forum, for different tricks help different treatment.
