Hi, it diesn't seem as if you're getting any replies.
What are you taking for your BP at the moment?
It seems most BP medications can make RLS worse.
A diuretic might be the least likely to make RLS worse, but it might not be appropriate depending on what's causing your high BP.
ACE inhibitors, beta blockers and calcium channel are all thought to make RLS worse. I have taken a beta blocker without major effect on my RLS,but again this might not be appropriate again.
It is more important that your BP is cobtrolled than your RLS, though of coyrse you can't feel your BP and it doesn't disturb your sleep. Yiu may need to do more to control your RLS, rather thanbreduce or change a BP medication.
Thank you Minerva. I am taking Ramipril 7.5 but think that it may be increased as BP still high and am due for an operation at the end of the year. Good advice, think it is an ACE and will ask doc if another one is more suitable. So a Beta Blocker was OK for you ?
Ramipril IS an ACE inibitor.
I did take a beta blocker propranolol without any apparent effect on my RLS.
However, it wasn't a large dose and it was bad nerves rather than BP.
You may have to do this by trial and error.
I take a calcium channel blocker which doesn't appear to affect my RLS. Good luck.x
