Is anyone else awake at this ungodly hour? For me between 1am and 5am are the worst, not that my rls peaks at this time I think it’s the time I feel most despondent.
I’m standing in the kitchen, leaning on the counter top kicking my legs like a flippin cancan dancer and in storms my other half and he utters the immortal words “what are you doing up at this time? Just come back to bed and see if you can get to sleep’
I could’ve throttled him!
Does he really think I choose to be up at this time!
Sometimes I just want to throw the towel in.

He’s a corgi Jack Russell cross. We’ve always had lady dogs and always big dogs but this one stole our hearts when we went to the rescue centre. He had been used as a bait dog for dog fighting, then he was given to a lady who couldn’t handle him - he was really wild, so he went from being locked in a cage on a travellers site to being locked in a back yard. He has been hard work but now he’s a cracking little dog.
We haven’t got a dog at the moment but we have had a corgi then an airedale.
My daughter has just bought a puppy, i believe it’s a cavapoo. It looks just like a steiff teddy.
Right, I’m off to drag the dog out of bed coz if I have to stand here for much longer I think I’ll lose my mind. I hope that you manage to get some sleep, ttfn
Do you think it maybe linked to being bipolar, I am and also have RLS and my sleep doesnt exist every night. I get up take sleep aids which ain't much good, try amitriptyline, or pain med, all to no avail, times I'm not going to bed till 6 or 7am, cant go before 1am or 2hrs is max and up all night then, at least I get some hours when I go later am.
I feel for you having double affliction. If you are not being kept awake with the urge to move your legs it may well be the bipolar especially if you tend to lean more towards the high side .
Things to keep a check to ensure you are on the right medication for your bipolar and whether it could possible be causing the RSL
I’m not suggesting for a moment that you stop any medication for your bipolar as it must be your first priority.
Not wanting you to send me answers just for you to check yourself .
Is your brain racing ?
Is your sexy drive high ?
How are you getting on with your nearest and dearest ?
Are you eating more than normal ?
Are you feeling intolerant ?
Do you mind if I ask what medication you are on ?
🙂
I am awake
Yes I'm here too, obvs not in your kitchen, that would be crazy, although yeah this is crazy!
I find between 1 and 5 is my worst time too, great eh need to be up at 7am, really looking forward to my busy day ahead with no sleep, yet again 😢

Hiya
Me again.
I just had another try at sleeping .
I’m sure there’s some invisible demon waiting for me to nod off so that he can flick a switch and send a surge of electricity through me.
I must have been very naughty in a past life.
• in reply to
Yeah I get that feeling, the surge of electricity, its horrendous 😭, my whole body is not under my own control, arghhhh!
As for your past life activities, well "truth will out" 😜
• in reply to

• in reply to
Oh I am well jeal of SWMBO, fast asleep.
Who are you calling Madam? You make me sound like an old maid 👵
Anyhow, me thinks you probably should be used to being insulted 😜

I’ll have you know I have a very delicate constitution, and I’m very easily upset .
Hi, mine reckons he lies awake when I get up 🤥 well if that's true then what on earth is making those horrendous sounds in the bedroom? Too tired to check 😴
Hi there nice to meet you i bothered to go up stairs to bed tonight it was at 2am woke up again at 3am don’t know why I bother my wife will not be happy once again she goes to bed these nights and tells me not to sit up too late my God I wish I could just go to bed & sleep 💤 how I would love to just cuddle up and enjoy my sleep the way we used to instead of this bloody nightmare it can really pull me down some times
OMG, How frustrating! I grew up watching my father pacing and stamping his feet from early evening on. I suppose if you have never experiencing yourself, it must be hard to imagine. Fortunately my partner is very understanding, although he can get a bit frustrated when I fall asleep in the middle of a conversation!
Hi I sympathise with you I have been there many times the only hope I can say is stick with it times will get be better I know that sounds easy and that at 3am in the morning it’s hell I’ve been there. I’m in some kind of remission at the moment I don’t know what I’ve done to deserve it but making the most of it. Rls doesn’t seem to follow any logical pattern but what I do know is that when sleep does come it’s heaven
Yes - more often than not I will be up until about 5am doing whatever it takes to take my mind off the misery which happens every time I lie down. Unfortunately this can't include walking in my case. I don't have any magic answers I can only offer my commiseration. My husband now sleeps in another room so I don't have to worry about disturbing him.
Yes I'm up too- my legs are driving me mad tonight-Thankfully I dont have a better half -she lives in Kent - to nag me for being up so late when I should be in bed
I going to try going to bed now so wishing all a goodnight best you all can
I totally get you. I live alone, and I thought last night if anyone could see me now . . , I was crawling on the carpet on my hands and knees, because sometimes that helps. I have discovered if I take a hot shower at 10 p.m. and let the hot water beat on the backs of my calves, that helps 40% of the time. I also remind myself that I am not suffering alone, but that there is an army of us kicking and dancing in the wee hours. My keep strong wishes go out to all of you!
