Does anyone know whether the results of the study on ecopipam alleviating Augmentation has been published? William Ondo was doing the study.

Yes- not found anything so far. It was quite a small study- so maybe that’s why we haven’t heard anything.

Could very well be the reason. Altho they do publish small studies. Or maybe they are not ready to publish it yet. Who know's.

Have done a brief search, can't find it.

I did find this though and I believe Ecopipam is D1 antagonist

Thanks Manerva. I suspect the trial begun in 2017 by Dr Ondo was to test if these results ( on mice) were reproduced in humans. I’ll look on the RLS foundation site to see if I can find anything.

I think there might have been something about it in the most recent ‘nightwalker’ magazine. I’ll have a look in the morning and post if I find anything. From memory the US rls society was contributing to the funding so there should be something on their website.

Thanks Parminter. Maybe I should contact Dr Ondo. The trial was supposed to end in October 2018.

The problem with this drug, even if it does work, is that it uses one drug to deal with side-effects of another. And so on ad infinitum. Every addition will carry its own burden and unknowable interactions. That bothers me a lot.

Yep- we seem to be constantly trying to stay one step ahead but ending up two steps behind.

This bunch has never been one step ahead, unless you count all the night walking.

But I do admire Doctor Ondo, and do not doubt he is doing his utmost to help us to stop this particular, undesirable nocturnal exercise.
