I wear a 6 mg. Patch and take Clonazapam also. I've had four shoulder surgeries in Feb. & March this year. My RLS is much worse since surgery. I developed total body RLS after breaking my shoulder six years ago. I need something better. I wish I could be more encouraging.

That sounds really tough. Would you consider emailing Dr. Buchfuhrer to see what he suggests for you? If you go to his website - rlshelp.org - I think you can find a contact detail. He is very generous about emailing back. 6mg of neupro is quite high and it is in the class of drugs that can start to feed the condition after a while in a process known as augmentation. It may be that that is contributing to your worsening condition.

You should also make sure your serum ferritin is over 100 and if not (request a blood test from your GP and make sure they give you the actual figure not just that you are 'normal') start a supplement. Raising iron helps symptoms in at least 50% of sufferers. It may also be worth researching any other products/pharmaceuticals you are taking to ensure that they do not contribute to rls symptoms and that you are not inadvertently exacerbating your symptoms. Good luck.
