Vibro plate machine solved my RLS

I have a mild RLS for about 20 years. It does not give me any pain, only a big buzzing discomfort after sitting a long time in a chair. Or in the middle of the night (to alleviate that I sleep with an air conditioning set on 16 Celsius every night). I used to wake up almost every night and went squatting. 20 reps on one leg, 20 reps on another. The exercise gets my legs tired enough to stop feeling the discomfort from RLS. Well, on a positive side, now I have a pumped up ass and a better stamina. Because in the end of the 3 minute exercise my heart rate is 140 bpm or so. Try a one-legged squat, it is not easy. On a negative side it is a big stress to wake up every 1,5 hours because the discomfort returns and go squatting again. So I bought a used vibro plate machine and stand on it for 3 minutes in a half squatted position. Trying to get the very muscles that give you discomfort vibrating under a static load of a half squatted position. You need to bend your knees a lot, enough to feel the load. If you just stand in such a position for some time your legs will get shaky, it is not easy. But on a vibro plate somehow it works. After 3 minutes I feel a pleasant buzz in my legs which completely replaces the unpleasant buzz from RLS. After 1,5 month of owning the vibro plate I stopped being anxious about my RLS at all. If I wake up I just get on a vibro plate, stand there for 3 minutes on a strongest vibration program. Eating a couple of cookies meanwhile. And then go back to my bed. And I rarely wake up even a second time a night. If I do I just calmly step on my vibro plate and repeat the procedure without waking up much. I bought my vibro plate for 70 euros, used. The model is Clear Fit CF-plate Compact 201. It goes without handles, just a plate. Which is important if you do not have a spare space in your room.

Might be a lot easier to check your ferritin levels, and determine what triggers set off the rls. 😎

But well done for getting something to relieve your symptoms.

My iron stores are above normal, I watch all my triggers and still have rls almost every night,

Lol I do squats as well, but can’t do one leg. I have heard of a flat pad that vibrates on top of your mattress. I haven’t tried it and I think it would take a bit to be used to. That you for the info and I hope it continues to help you.
