I have recently been commenced on Lyrica (20mg) twice daily and am slowly withdrawing from Sifrol .25mg daily. Toay is day 6 with Lyrica and I am finding it working well with only minor break through symptoms just before I take the evening dose. I have cut the dose down to taking it night time only due to it's heavily sedating effects. So far so good.

Good news, I like that!
Are you sure you have the correct dose of Lyrica? The usual starting dose for RLS is 50mg titrating slowly up to 200 or 300mg.
I only take it an hour before sleep as it is very sedating so if RLS only affects you at night it makes sense to do what you have done and take at night .
Hope the withdrawal from sifrol goes smoothly. If symptoms play up after stopping the last dose, ask your doctor for help- you may need something stronger during withdrawal.
Good luck.
That's what my doctor has prescribed. It took me some fancy talking to get that from him and I showed him a copy of research that confirmed Lyrica is beneficial for treatment. It was prescribed as needing to be taking twice daily but I only took it the once (twice daily) and slept almost the whole next day so for me it is very sedating. (I am 71, maybe that's why} I am due to see my doctor again in a couple of weeks for review so will see how I go for this first month. So far it has been wonderful.
Lyrica ( pregabalin) is now a first line treatment for RLS and is very sedating. I only queried the dose because 20mg is very, very low. The usual dose for RLS is 200-300mg. If 20mg is working that is brilliant news.
Long may it continue to help.
