Hi Tony

I just checked your posts & see you are in exactly the same position you were in 2 years ago.

Is there any reason you have not followed the previous advice given about slowly withdrawing from the pramipexole?

Sadly, your situation will not improve until you decide to withdraw and follow through.

Yes it’s really, really hard every time you reduce the dose but until you get off the Mirapex nothing will change.

If you reduce 1/2 tablet every 5/7 days with the help of tramadol you should be through withdrawal by the time you see the neurologist in August.

As advised before, get your serum ferritin checked and read up again on Augmentation and withdrawal .

I really hope you manage to get off the Mirapex.

Thank you for help I will let you know how I get on when I saw the neurologist last time I told her and then she put my pramipexole up to 3 times a day would it be ok to take half tablet in morning for a week then the other half and take codene when I cut down 241241 xx

If you’re on 3 tablets a day you start by taking 2 & 1/2 tablets for 5/7 days then 2 tablets for 5-7 days then 1 & 1/2 tablet for 5/7 days then 1 tablet for 5/7 says and finally 1/2 tablet for 5 days.

When you drop that last half tablet you’ll get non stop jerks for days on end with little sleep so ensure you take time off and have family & friends to help.

Codeine will help and cannabis if you can get hold of some.

You should tell your GPs what you are planning and talk through alternative meds.

You should start taking the alternative meds 3 weeks before you’re due to take the last pramipexole.

It’s tough but many of us have made it through. You will be in a better place once off the dopamine agonists. You’ve been suffering Augmentation for too many years already and you need to get some quality of life back.

I went to the doctor's yesterday and explained I am in augmentation she didn't want to take much time because they was running late but I did say I am not getting any sleep but she has give me some pregabalin 25 mg I did look it up and it seems to be good for RLS I started Saturday reducing the pramipexole I got hold of my neurologist secretary yesterday then the neurologist phoned me and explained when you get the tablets give me a ring back with what they are so she will give me a ring today and say what to about them and when to start you have been all through this when do you thing I should start taking the pregabalin tablets thanks for help 241241 Henshaw

You start them 3 weeks before you are due to stop taking your last dose of pramipexole. They won’t start to help until you are through the pramipexole withdrawal.

You should slowly increase the dose of pregabalin.

The max dose for RLS is 300mg but many find that 150mg is enough. If you only get RLS at night then take all the pregabalin about an hour before bedtime.

Wishing you good luck and strength to get off the pramipexole.

Yes, would be great not to have to type out the same observations so regularly.
