Hey, Dic Carlson, What did you find out with the special doctor you went to see, after your camping trip? It has been a long time since I have been on here, but I have been wondering how things were going with your problem sleeping. So thought I'd better ask.

Still on the fence in doing a consult with her. (Cynthia Perkins, holistichelp.net/blog/). I'm going to try some more diet strategies first. I'm still not sleeping well, and every now and then, RLS tries to sneak in as well. I still think it is all related to Magnesium - but I just stopped a recent run with Magnesium bisglycinate - it totally kept me awake, excitable like caffeine. I'm back to just doing electrolytes to stave off muscle cramps.
Have your tried phosphatidylserine and ashwagandha for blunting the cortisol response in the middle of the night? (If that is the problem, but as it is very common, I would bet that could be it.) It is called adrenal dysregulation, where instead of the natural curve of cortisol thru the day, it becomes high at night and wakes one up/or keeps one awake. Here is something by Dr. Westin Childs restartmed.com/adrenal-fati...
Dr. Sara Gottfried recommends these also, as well as Tori Hudson and Dr. Axe, etc.
Also schisandra and gotu kola are helpful with calming down the adrenals and regulating them back to the natural circadian rhythm. Check out on Amazon as to what other people have to say about all 4 of these supplements.
