Just about to get comfortable & bam the restless legs attacks. Anyone know anything that eases it as it seems to be getting worse and worse particularly at night when I am in bed, making it even harder to sleep then it was already.

Sorry about your situation - stress makes rls much worse - but thats easy to say and harder to fix!

In the immediate term , you could try magnesium oil ( mix epsom salts and water in equal measure ) rubbed on your legs or better still , have an epsom salt bath- two mugs of salts in hot water and soak for 20 mins - no more than that.

Feeling for you and hope this helps. And that you have epsom salts handy- all night Tesco???😎

Good luck.

PS- the other thing is Diazepam or sleeping pill just to get you through this episode.

For short term relief I do either a hot bath or shower, and just soak in it. The relief is immediate and typically lasts for an hour plus after getting out.

I have tried everything. Ropinirole 1 mg is the only thing that has worked for me. However it's been about 6 months and pain is back more frequently. Time to see Dr. But I must say i don't know how I could get through without the ropinirole. Good luck. I just want to say, RLS doesn't sound very bad when you hear it. So I sometimes wonder, Are we simply not taken very serious. I just don't think most Doctors understand how painful this can be..

I've found recently that avoiding sweetened foods in the evenings helps me. Since I discovered this, I found that there are people who don't produce enough of the required enzyme to digest sucrose, so my next step is to test whether I can tolerate other forms of sugar.

I am experimenting with Magnesium Citrate and getting good results so far. I take 400 mg daily at present. I frequently top-up my iron levels too - that also seems to help.

Mind you, sometimes nothing will help!
