I got the results of my sleep study which showed I have a Periodic Limb Movement Disorder. No great surprise there but what did surprise me is that I had sleep apnea. The neurologist thinks that this could be helped if I stop taking the 1mg of clonazepam when I go to bed. I attribute falling asleep quickly to this so I am not looking forward to the process. If you do have nights when you are waking a lot or don't feel rested when you wake this may be something worth thinking about.

Sleep apnea
Oh dear, well you have had a good result and finding what other issues you have, which sleep studies will find. Its usually the strong pain meds that doctor's are reluctant to prescribe when someone has sleep apnea as they can interfer with breathing. Just did some quick research , it is all sedating meds that should be avoided. Do some research your self martino, it will probably help you alot to deal with it. Maybe a support group can help too.
Thanks Elisse
Around 10 years ago my daughter was concerned with the amount of meds I was taking so took me to Melbourne sleep study under the watchful eye of a neurologist. After o/n study he advised he could not consider help with RLS until trying to rectify my Sleep apnoea problem. What problem? Apparently serious problem. So expensive machine purchased, mask for 2 years. .... threw it out as nothing changed. Reckoned if dying was consequence couldn't think of easier way! PLMD also but not a concern for me as sleep alone. RLS Bain of my existence
