The doc tried me on it for insomnia. I did have the ortho-static hypotension it is so well known for.
I stood up from the sofa to go to bed and suddenly felt incredibly nauseous, had to keep the bathroom door open, and wanted more or less to collapse on the bed I'd gone to make where I felt I'd fall into sleep, the first I would have had for years without a sleeping pill. I don't if it would have been sleep or some other type of unconsciousness. However, by the time I'd made the bed I was functioning almost normally again, the nausea wearing off.
As I got used to taking them, the only thing I felt was a sort of "jacked up" mental state, sort of a pharma-psychological equivalent of matchsticks under the eyelids.
They may have improved the quality of my sleep but not its duration, and I got taken off them. Coming off them was quite a tricky business too.
