Long car ride

Hi Friends

Off to the coast for a holiday in Oregon on the beach. But it's a 9 hour car ride with the corgis. Ughhh. Will be stopping lots to stretch and water the babies. Hope the RLS doesn't start up.

Ty

Sounds wonderful and well worth the restless journey.

Have a great time and good luck with the traveling.

like your photo of dog,,sorry baby. i could not do a car ride of that length,i would have to have so many breaks,it would be nice to be somewhere else, but that would be torture for me, good luck

If I was faced with a 9 hour drive I'd throw some salt in the bath and sand on the floor and make do :)

Have a good one and hopefully the legs will behave.

πŸ˜‚ I have to agree with you on that one.... a 9 hour car journey sounds like torture, even with regular stops.

Excellent. Only a few cramps in feet at end of ride. Ty

I only choose holidays with less than a two hour journey, preferably in the morning by train, but in June I am going to Northumberland, by car, with my family. Don't know how we'll mamage. They will have to keep stopping for me.

I am the same , only travel by train and am happy if I have to change after 2 hours max. Have taken tranquilliser also on plane...but cars have so little room to move around...may be better to change to the back set so as one can wriggle about !?

What are you doing to ward it off? I have the same concern re: long drive from RI to upstate NY. I'm also worried about the what if I can't sleep enroute when I have to drive next day. Can't take melatonin or diphenhydramine since they can at times trigger RLS? Suggestions anyone???

I take klonopin at night right now. Could not do DA"s or neurontin...side effects unreal for me.

But some sweet day I don't want to take anything. Sighhhh

I suggest wearing TED stocking. The sort of socks that people wear to prevent deep vein thrombosis after surgery, on aircraft or people who can't walk for whatever reason. We call them TED stocking in the UK and can be thigh length or knee length. You may call them something else but you should be able to buy them at your local drugstore. I would not go on a long car journey or plane without them. Have a good trip.
