I would just like to say a big thank you to everybody for your help regarding the iron supplements, it is always such a help to know there are people that understand this awful RLS. I think in my case it is juggling the doses and times that you take them.
Again thank you so much for your help

i think we all seem to sort the doses of medication out what i would like to know is how the heck rls knows the time!!! it seems to start in the evening,
Datsoon the RLS worsens at night as it follows the circadian rythm which is the bodys internal body clock. At night our levels of dopamine drop and it is almost certain that RLS stems from faulty dopamine receptors x
But it does seem to have a personality of its own. Last summer I had a very hard time coming off mirapexin with incredibly violent rls all over. I got practically no sleep for seemingly weeks and weeks (I could sometimes snatch maybe an hour or two during the day but none at all at night time) - my husband was so concerned that he afterwards told me that he was considering taking me to accident and emergency and having me put into an induced coma.
Then a weird thing happened; all symptoms ceased for about 5 days - I still don't know why - nothing else changed. However I slept and slept - I just could not wake up for the whole time - until the symptoms started up again at the same severity as previously. It sounds very melodramatic but I consider that I was very close to collapse when the symptoms stopped - it felt like the rls knew to back off for long enough to enable me to get enough sleep to carry on so that it could continue its shenanigans in my body. It is an evil, ghastly condition.
