Persimmon

I onder if I am alone in finding that persimmon fruit triggers my rls. The first time I thought it was a coincidence but I had a terrible night last night after trying them again. I even got up in the night and after walking around for hours took more Ropinerole.

It's quite possible. Everyone will have their own individual triggers. It's only through trial and error and experience that we find out.

Were Persimmon the only common factor? Did you have anything else with them?

Cheers.

Hi Madlegs1

On both occasions I had them as a pudding after a main meal. Last night I had a couscous veg salad which I've had before with no ill effect. I can't remember what I ate before my first reaction.

May not be relevant in this case- but I used to find (Bi#ds) custard a real bad trigger- until they stopped putting artificial yellow colour (E 123 ?) in it.

It's a thought. Persimmon are quite highly coloured although natural. I'll check if other fruits of similr colour affect me.

Hi Lois - just done some research-- fascinating results. There is a body of belief that says high oxalate foods trigger rls. I first came across this in Dr B's site -- rlshelp.org.

Yep- persimons are very high in oxalic acid- as well as rhubarb and a host of others!😢

If you google " oxalates and rls" you will get to spend many happy hours reading about what you won't be able to eat any more!😂

Aren't I the best killjoy ever!?

Good luck!😎
