Hi Ink

We need some more information before we can begin to try to help. First of all, are you on any medication? That would be a good start to know the answer to that question.

Can't tell much from that.😆

What medications are you on?

Do you feel the need to move your limbs for relief or do they move involuntarily?

Do you drink alcohol or a lot of sugary /artificial sweetened drinks?

Are you taking antihistamines or any other medications?

Please get back with some info and we might be able to help.

Cheers.

I take Oxy Neo and Percocet and cipralex (antidepressant ) And I have taken adivan a few times hoping it would help me sleep and all it did was make me really tired with RLS!

Ink,

Cipralex/Escitalopram is unfortunately one of the medications to avoid if suffering from RLS.

Great minds or fools Kaarina? :)

BTW - Hi Ink66 you are very welcome here, you'll learn plenty and if up for it have a laugh too, yes it is possible :)

Thankyou ! I am tapering myself off of the cipralex cause it put a cramp in my sex life. So we'll see what happens once I'm off it completely.

The Cipralex is likely the culprit BUT it is not advisable to stop it without speaking with your GP, you will need to be tapered off it.

What dose of Perocet are you taking and what dose of the Oxy? I'd imagine that the Ativan wouldn't do a whole pile but some people do get benefits.

I know its bad, but it does get better, I went through a bad patch of RLS getting no treatment for it for over a year and having it all over - my legs body and arms lasting 18+ hours a day and just wanting to die HOWEVER I got the right treatment and although get the odd bad night things are a lot better, don't give up hope.

Hi Raff's I take 30 mg of OxyNeo. And 4 to 6 tabs of 350mg Oxycocete. And the Ativan did nothing for me! As for the Cipralex I'm tapering myself off it now. I'm tired of being in pain all the time from a work accident that left me with damaged knee ,surgery pending and 7 bulging discs in my back ,a torn shoulder and a severely broken arm . they rebuilt my elbow and removed two inches of bone to put in a titanium rotator head. So I'm a little disabled,.Still working and dealing with it one day at a time.

They are good and potent drugs and should be controlling the RLS to some decent degree. I think the biggest thing is the Cipralex, I take it since you are tapering you've spoken with your Dr, if not do. You really do need to take it gentle coming off it, (depending on length of use and dose), also you need to look at it in the context of why you are taking it - no point coming off it only to become depressed and maybe harm yourself.

Definitely talk with the Dr and get the drugs sorted. I have pain issues too and I have found two things - if I don't get it under control from morning I can't get it sorted as well and 2 - the more pain I'm under the worse my RLS is. Don't know why it effects the RLS but it does.

I'm not 100% on those pain drugs but I get the impression the Oxycocete is short acting and there might be merit in taking a long acting one twice a day. I'd imagine there is some nerve damage and you could benefit from Lyrica which can also help with the RLS, might be worth floating with a Dr.

Hope you get some peace soon, take care.

Someone on radio one had all these symptoms....you must get to a gp

Hi I am just Joe Bloggs, but know all about needing sleep. I do hope on here you find your answers. I havent found any for myself but its been great talking to people who empathise my problems, I think with me its Tramadol pain relief, but I have now terrible side effects trying to stop them. also now less drug more pain. I will never take drugs again, that are addictive, and pray the sleep problems cramps and involuntary muscle spasms, will go and allow me sleep once I have come off the last two tablets. I have used heat, lots of pillows for my pain and keeping my legs elevated. tight socks, but it doesnt help the top half of my body. I just rock back and fore until it eases. which is normally 9 the next day, when I am moving around. Do hope you find some relief regards Chris Richards
