Sleepless with stretching legs constantly

Every night I wake and find I am stretching, it wakes me and I have stretched so much I am sure I have done something to my hip. This has been going on for years. My occupation is a dog walker and for the last 5 years I walk up to 25k a day. When I read about the comments on the internet about regular exercise I laugh because that's one thing I do not need to do in the middle of the night. I'm so tired, some nights I fall asleep on the couch for an hour without stretching but then in bed the stretching starts, its a night mare, can anyone suggest any thing ?

Do have a look at the new RLS-UK website (RLS-uk.org). There are helpful sections on medication and alternative ways to manage the symptoms. Hope you can find some relief soon!
