I have had tingling and numbness in toes for two years and have been been on ropinirole for this period of time. I am wondering if anyone has had success with mj?

What is mj?

Does mj mean marijuana? If so, I think a few people have tried it on here with varying levels of success. Use the search tab and type in cannabis.

Could the tingling and numbness be peripheral neuropathy? I'd get it checked out with your doctor to find out what's causing it.

It is peripheral neuropathy ! What is the difference?

peripheral neuropathy can be caused by multiple sclerosis, diabetes, other neurological conditions or trapped nerves in spine, legs or feet. RLS does not usually cause it. If you get tingling checked out you may resolve the RLS as well, hopefully. I'll cross my fingers for you.

take care,

HI" I really didn't understand! I have been diagnosed with peripheral neuropathy and take 1 1/2 mg of Ropinirole. I get tingling and numbness in toes at between 5-7pm every nite. It takes about 2 hours for the med to enable me to sleep! I am not diabetic, nor do I have multiple sclerosis. How would you ever determine nerve problem? Thanks for reply!

Sorry Ramrod,

I assumed you suffered from RLS initially as that is what ropinirole is usually used for. Do you have RLS at all?I haven't heard of ropinirole being used for peripheral neuropathy before, but there's a first time for everything.

Cheers,

Ramrod,

Restless legs is the uncontrollable need/urge to move your legs, usually at night or at rest. Tingling may be part of it but not usually numbness, that's why I mentioned it sounded more like peripheral neuropathy. Treatment for that is usually different. This link sets out what it is and some causes and usual treatment. Ropinirole isn't mentioned.

It helps with the RLS.

As a user of MJ and a sufferer of RLS I can tell u it does give "some" relief but it is extremely temporary and I'm sad to say not a replacement for proper medical care.
